Honda recently launched an all-new CB300R in India. The cafe-racer now gets a BS6-compliant engine along with minor cosmetic changes.

The old BS4 model used to be imported into the Indian Market via the CKD route before being discontinued in 2020. On the other hand, the latest 2022 model is manufactured in India.

Looks

The 2022 Honda CB300R retains the same neo-retro design as the previous with a circular headlamp and slim taillights. However, tiny details such as the golden-coloured USD fork and the stealthier-looking grey side panels provide a more luxurious look.

Honda has also changed the style of the exhaust to give it a more sporty appearance. Moreover, a bulky and muscular fuel tank, split seats, black alloy wheels, and an engine block cover are further design aspects that contribute to the motorcycle's premium aesthetic appeal.

The updated CB300R is available in two colors: Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Steel Black.

Performance

The all-new CB300R is equipped with a BS6-compliant 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. With the upgrade, the bike now has a maximum power output of 31.1PS at 9000rpm and a torque of 27.5Nm at 7500rpm.

The fuel-injected motor is also mated to a six-speed transmission and has a slip-assist clutch. This makes gear changes easier and decreases shocks providing a better riding experience.

Dimensions

Talking of exterior dimensions, CB300R is 2,017mm in length, 802mm in width, and 1,047mm in height. Moreover, it has 157mm ground clearance and a seat height of 801m.

The bike now weighs 146 kg and has a 9.7-litre fuel tank capacity. As for mileage, the company claims it delivers 30 kilometres per litre.

Hardware

The BS6 CB300R's chassis has been kept unchanged. The diamond-type frame is the same, so are an Upside-down fork up front and a mono-shock with a seven-step preload adjustment at the rear section.

A 296mm front disc with a 4-piston calliper and a 220mm rear disc with a 2-piston calliper handles braking duties. Similarly, the dual-channel ABS system, in collaboration with the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), identifies lean angles and provides optimal braking.

In addition, the bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 110-section front and 150-section rear tubeless tyres.
